Moseley is a popular cosmopolitan suburb to the south of Birmingham that is full of a number of leisure venues and great residential options as well.
It was once home to the Moseley School of Art which trained a wealth of well known stars including Ali Campbell from UB40, Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac and Roy Wood - the singer and songweriter from Wizzard.
And today its cultural legacy has carried on with many amazing festivals including Moseley Folk & Arts Festival and Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul - along with some fabulous markets.
There are some spots of natural beauty in Moseley too - and these have inspired the likes of JRR Tolkien who lived in Birmingham and went on to create his epic Lord of the Rings adventures with the landscape in mind.

5. Eat at Carters of Moseley in Birmingham

6. Buy some fresh produce at the farmer’s market
Moseley Farmer’s market is on monthly. It won the best farmer’s market award in 2023 - for the fourth time. This market has become a social meeting place and a great place for local farmers and businesses to sell their products. (Photo - Adobe stock images)
7. Enjoy a pint at the Prince of Wales
There are so many great bars in Moseley and the Prince of Wales is one of the best known. It was originally built in the 1840s and has had a few ups and downs in recent times with changes of ownership. But it’s up and running again, retaining its traditional Vicotiran feel - now with aTolkien lounge. The beer garden is enormous.

Enjoy a trip to this charming coffee shop and be transported to a far away land, full of alluring aromas, colours and flavours. This is a real taste of the Middle East right on the Alcester Road and the food and drinks are divine. The setting is stunning too. We love the outdoor seating area.
