The women’s group is partnering with West Midlands Combined Authority to celebrate International Women’s Day this year.
The theme for their event this year is Sports, Arts and Culture #BreakTheBias

Hide AdIn Her Shoes songbook singalong


This singing event has been organised by ‘In Her Shoes’, a Birmingham group which looks to create opportunities and spaces for women and girls to come together, share creative experiences and have fun.
The event will run from 7pm-9m on 8 March.
As well as the songs, there will also be a chance to chat and connect with other women too.
Hot drinks and light snacks will also be provided.
This will also be a women only event and it is free admission.

International Women’s Day event by Legacy Centre of Excellence
The centre has got a full day of events planned to mark International Women’s Day.

Celebrating Women in Architecture


The Royal Institute Of British Architects (RIBA) West Midlands and Birmingham Architectural Association is hosting their annual celebration of Women in Architecture in celebration of International Women’s Day.
A series of projects that celebrate and showcase the exceptional female talent in the West Midlands region will be on display throughout the day.
The event runs from 6pm-9pm on 8 March and is free.

Tudor Women Guided Tour
Blakesley Hall museum is running a special guided tour on Tudor women to mark International Women’s Day.
Taking place at 11am and 2pm on 8 March, the tour will teach all about the lives of women during the Tudor period.

Wine Freedom


Birmingham based natural wine bar is marking International Women’s Day by hosting a four-week art exhibition at their Digbeth warehouse.
The work is by artist Katie Fishlock whose work focuses on several themes including gender, sexuality and identity.

Hide AdVisitors will also have the opportunity to purchase one of Katie’s colourful works at the exhibition.
Also on sale will be 100 limited edition House wine bottles featuring a piece of Katie’s artwork.
The exhibition began on 4 March and runs until 27 March.
