Victoria Square is being transformed for the Commonwealth Games - and will become the centre of the festivities, with free family fun all day every day throughout the 11-day spectacle.

Hide AdIt’s got a big screen too - so you’ll be able to watch all the sporting action while soaking up the thrilling atmosphere. Every morning there will be Sunrise Stretch Sessions and dance-offs with Perry, the mascot, among other activities throughout the day.
Apart from that, there will be live performances on the stage in Victoria Square, and cafes, bars, and restaurants will be offering exciting food and drink menus.
On Wednesday 27 July, the Queen’s Baton will be welcomed at the square with an evening full of festivities. The Queen’s Baton Relay enters the final stage of its 294-day journey around the Commonwealth with its final destination being the Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr at the thrilling Opening Ceremony featuring Duran Duran, Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and more.

Hide AdThe baton contains the Queen’s message inside and it will be revealed at the opening ceremony when Prince Charles reads it out.

Queen’s Baton Relay Homecoming Celebrations 27 July - 5-9pm
An evening of fun and entertainment with 16 performances scheduled to keep you moving. The free events will be hosted by presenter Radzi Chinyanganya with rapper SANITY outside the Council House.

Athletes will be ending their marathon in Victoria Square and you can come down to support them and be part of history. There will also be a family DJ session to keep you cheered.
