We hit the streets to ask supporters how they’re feeling ahead of the big day, and what a win would mean to them.

For many, this isn't just another game. It's a rare moment of pride, a chance for Birmingham City to write a new chapter. In pubs, fans are dissecting tactics. In shops, people are eyeing up new shirts. And across the city, there's a real buzz. “Birmingham is where I'm at, where I'm from. Always support home crowd,” one fan told us proudly.

Some supporters are feeling confident. “I think they'll have a pretty easy game today,” one said. “I don't think Peterborough are doing that well at the moment, so I think they'll win comfortably. Obviously, playing at Wembley, it's not going to be easy, but I hope Birmingham do well.”

Others were more cautious. “It could be much more difficult than we think really,” another fan admitted. “On paper, Birmingham are favourites, but Peterborough, they do produce some good football from what I've seen, and there's the Barry Fry factor, so it's hard to call, I would say.”

Still, the hopes are clear—even if they vary. “A win. A win’s always good. And just a lot of positivity. I think that's always a good thing,” said one upbeat supporter.

Fans know it's not just about the trophy—it's about what it represents. A few told us they’d happily take a scrappy win, even one decided by penalties, if it meant bringing the cup back to Birmingham. There’s talk of attacking football, tight defending, and making the most of set pieces.

“Supporters are calling for the team to start strong and keep their heads, especially under pressure,” one fan explained.

No one's underestimating Peterborough, but there’s quiet confidence that if the Blues play with intensity and heart, they can get over the line. There’s also excitement around the younger players—this is a chance for them to shine.

And what would a win mean? Everything. “Well, it's great, isn't it?” one supporter said with a smile. “It's always fantastic winning a cup final, whatever the cup final is, at Wembley. So, you know, I'm sure it's going to make a lot of people very, very happy—not just on the day, but for weeks to come.”

Another fan pointed to the bigger picture. “I know that they've had a lot invested into them by the consortium, so yeah, I hope that pays off. Get their first trophy and then move on—moving up the leagues, winning more trophies, bigger ones as well.”

And then there’s the banter side of things. “Excitement, bragging rights, a little bit of banter, whoever else cares,” one fan laughed. “We're always in the mix of football anyway, so it's very British. Maybe if I go to work and I’ll be like, ‘Yeah, Birmingham won!’ But then, I don't know if anyone will be supporting Peterborough, so…”

Thousands of Blues fans will be making the journey to Wembley this weekend, many for the first time.

Families are travelling together, some taking time off work, others scraping together what they can to be there. For younger fans, it could be the start of something. For older ones, it’s a long-awaited taste of glory.

Whether the day ends in joy or heartbreak, one thing is clear: the club has already united its people. And that, more than anything, is what football is all about.

The 2025 Final will be taking place at the iconic Wembley Stadium on Sunday 13th April 2025. For tickets and more info visit here.
