Vitor Pereira’s side have so far been fairly slow on the recruitment front after losing Matheus Cunha to Manchester United for £62.5m after his release clause was met, along with Rayan Ait-Nouri, who moved to the blue side of Manchester for around £36.3m.

Wolves completed the signing of Jhon Arias from Fluminense earlier this month and also acquired Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo earlier in the window, in a move which sees him reunite with striker Jorgen Strand Larsen after his loan move was made permanent.

Larsen is attracting some interest from Newcastle United and although he’s unlikely to leave in this window just after signing, it’s suspected Wolves will look to add another forward-thinking player to their squad in the coming weeks.

Wolves plot £23m move for Bayer Leverkusen gem

ESPN journalist Julien Laurens claims Wolves have set their sights on Bayer Leverkusen winger Amine Adli.

It’s mooted that a figure of around £23m should be enough to secure the services of the Moroccan international, who is now playing his football under Erik ten Hag following Xabi Alonso’s exit to Real Madrid.

Laurens wrote on X: “I’m told that Amine Adli is attracting interest from Premier League clubs. Wolves and West Ham are keen on the Bayer Leverkusen forward. At 25, he is keen on a move to England. His valuation is around £23m.”

The 15-cap Moroccan international is still only 25-years-old and most likely entering the prime years of his career, making him potentially a very attractive prospect for the Old Gold.

What would Amine Adli bring to Wolves?

Based on comments from his former manager Xabi Alonso and Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes, Amine Adli is a player blessed with good technical ability and the skillset to run at defenders and create plenty of chances due to his blistering speed.

“Amine shows hunger, intensity and he has that quality. If he can combine the lot consistently, we’ll see what a good player he can be.” Alonso said, via the Bundesliga website in 2023.

Meanwhile, Rifles added: “Amine’s very fast, has good technique, is extremely agile and skilful.”

Adli has experienced the heights of winning both the Bundesliga title and German Cup with Bayer Leverkusen while going unbeaten in the process. While at his previous club Toulouse in 2020/21 he won the Player of the Season award.

He’s got a record of 23 goals and 24 assists in 142 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, including 10 goals and 12 assists in the invincible season. However, he’s recently dropped down the pecking order and only managed to score two in 28 appearances across all competitions last term, starting just six Bundesliga matches in that time.
