Wolves are ‘not open’ to letting Joao Gomes head out the exit door this winter, as per Rudy Galetti on X. The reported added that only a ‘huge’ offer would tempt them to sell him this month amid interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
The Midlands outfit are determined to keep hold of the midfielder for the rest of this season as they look to stay up in the Premier League. They have until the end of the transfer window to try and keep hold of him.

Wolves signed Gomes back in January 2023 to bolster their ranks and he has since adapted well to life in England. He has become a key player in the middle of the park at Molineux and has a bright future in the game.
His contract expires in June 2028 so he still has a few years left to run on his deal and his current club are under no pressure to sell him unless a bid that they couldn’t refuse comes in for his services. The 23-year-old is a Brazil international with nine caps under his belt.
Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United could all see him as someone to add more quality into their respective midfield departments. However, they will need to fork out big money if they were to get him.
Gomes rose up through the academy ranks at Flamengo and was a regular for them at various different youth levels. He then broke into their first-team as a teenager in 2020 and went on to play 122 games, chipping in with four goals.

What next for Wolves?
Wolves are back in action this weekend with an away trip to Ashton Gate to face Championship side Bristol City in the FA Cup. They lost 3-0 at home to Nottingham Forest last time out in the top flight.
Speaking after their defeat to Forest, Pereira said: “Before the second goal, we created a great chance to equalise the game. It’s a short squad, and this week we’ve got a lot of problems. We tried and I’m proud of my players, but it was not possible. We need at least two [new] players to balance the squad.
“They tried everything to take something from this game, but this is something that we are expecting. We cannot lose our balance in the moment that we lose ball, when we lose ball, if we are not balanced, they are strong in the moment, in the counter attack, very fast players. We prepared this in training, but in the end, a lot of players out in a short squad, and we tried our best.”
He added: “We created chances but were missing the details to score. We need to give the merit to the goalkeeper, because the goalkeeper of Nottingham today made some fantastic saves.”
