A roundup of the latest transfer talks surrounding Wolves and Aston Villa.

Aston Villa and Wolves could both be in for an interesting spell on the transfer market this summer as the two sides look ahead to another season in the Premier League.

Villa are currently seventh in the table, challenging for a shot at European football next term, while the Wanderers look safe away from an end of season relegation scrap. With just four fixtures left of 2022/23, focus will soon shift to new acquisitions and potential outgoings when the transfer window opens.

Pete O’Rourke’s latest transfer column for Football Insider reports that Wolves are “pushing the hardest” to sign Coventry City’s star striker Viktor Gyökeres. The Sweden international has notched a stellar 21 goals so far this season and is the second highest scorer in the Championship.

The Sky Blues have conceded that they could lose Gyökeres if they fail to secure promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season. With just one year left on his current contract, Leeds, Everton, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Burnley are also interested in signing the 24-year-old.

Aston Villa January target is still on the radar

Aston Villa are still interested in signing Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique, following their previous links back in January. That’s according to AS, who claim that Unai Emery’s side are “one of the most interested teams” in signing the Brazilian this summer.

The 22-year-old has gained a lot of attention since signing for Betis last summer and he could be leaving the club “sooner rather than later.” Henrique joined for a reported €7.5 million (£6.5m), but his current Transfermarkt value is €15 million (£13.1m).

Wolves will reject any offers for £50m-rated Molineux star

Also according to O’Rourke of Football Insider, Wolves are set to reject any offers to sign Pedro Neto as Arsenal are reportedly looking to revisit their interest. They were hoping to sign the Portugal international last summer but were put off by his £50 million asking price.

However, Mikel Arteta is said to be on the market for a backup for Bukayo Saka when the transfer window opens. Wolves are not considering parting ways with Neto any time soon though, as the winger still has four years left on his contract.
