Wolverhampton Wanderers’ summer of disappointment continues as one of Bruno Lage’s top transfer targets, Joao Palhinha, has completed a medical at Premier League rivals Fulham ahead of a permanent move.
Palhinha, whose links to Wolves go all the way back to the beginning of June, looked almost certain to make a move to Molineux initially but after indecisiveness on the Wanderers front, recently promoted Fulham swooped in and nicked the signature from under the gold and black’s feet.

Hide AdUncertainty surrounding the future of members of the current squad including Ruben Neves and now free-agent Joao Moutinho seem to have left Wolves high and dry when it comes to the signing of new players.
Neves is yet to sign a new deal amid rumours of a move elsewhere and a compromise has still not been found with veteran midfielder Moutinho who is now officially a free agent.
It was rumoured earlier in the window that any incomings woud depend on the future of those two above and with the lack of movement on the ‘transfers in’ front up to now, that may well be the truth.
Worringly enough, things appear no further along the line with the future of Neves or Moutinho now than they did when the 21/22 season concluded at Anfield back in May.
