Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed their released and retained list this past week ahead of the 2022/23 campaign and it didn’t throw up anything fans didn’t already expect.
Goalkeeper John Ruddy and defensive pair Marcal and Romain Saiss were the most notable names leaving Molineux upon expiry of their contracts but that doesn’t mean that they will be the only big names to play their last games in the gold and black.
Bruno Lage will need to name a squad of 25 ahead of the new Premier League campaign and whilst that shouldn’t be an issue for a club that has notoriously small squad sizes - it doesn’t mean he won’t want to trim the fat off of some of the current first teamers to allow him to bring in some fresh blood.
That and there’s always the possibility of someone coming in and paying big money for a certain Ruben Neves *takes cover*.
BirminghamWorld have looked through all of Wolves’ first team squad and assessed which ones could potentially leave the club in the near future.
Each player has been ranked and rated based on how likely they are to depart the club, whether it be on loan or permanently.

1. Patrick Cutrone - Very likely
Spent the majority of his time away from Molineux on loan since his arrival in 2019. His contract at Wolves runs until June 2023 but it’s highly unlikely he plays any further part for the club. Photo: David Rogers

2. Connor Ronan - Very likely
Remains under contract until 2024 but has only played seven games for the first team since 2016. Don’t see that number increasing any further. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group

3. Hayao Kawabe - Very likely
Signed for Wolves in January before being immediately loaned back out to Grasshoppers. Would surprise me if he ever even plays a minute in Wanderers’ senior squad. | wolves.co.uk

4. Adama Traore - Very likely
Had an up and down loan spell in Spain with Barcelona and whilst a return there seems unlikely - so does a future at Molineux. | Getty Images
