The latest transfer news as Wolves, Brighton and Liverpool receive a response from a joint summer target.

Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott has made perhaps the biggest hint about his future to date after receiving the Robins’ Player of the Season award on Thursday evening. Linked heavily with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool, the 19-year-old has gained plenty of attention this campaign.

There’s no wonder as to why as the midfielder was recently named the Championship Young Player of the Year following 41 appearances, one goal and five assists in England’s second tier. Although not tearing the division apart for direct goal involvements, Scott’s contribution to Bristol’s mid-table finish cannot go understated.

As is the case for a fairly successful season, there was plenty of competition for the end-of-season awards but fans voted for Scott as their best player of the campaign. Speaking after picking up his trophy, Scott told Robins TV via Bristol World: “I’m buzzing. To get recognition from the fans is a special feeling.

“We’ve got so many top, top players here, it was very competitive and I am very happy to receive the awards. It’s been a massive season for me. As a team, we’ve definitely progressed from last season. As a player on and off the pitch, I have progressed massively as well,” Scott continued.

The playmaker’s words didn’t end there, though, as the Guernsey-born lad made sure to issue a subtle hint about his future - and one that Wolves, Brighton and Liverpool fans probably won’t want to hear. “I’m glad and I’m grateful to have played so many games. I’m looking forward to going again next season,” Scott said with a smile.

Bristol’s number seven could’ve merely thanked the fans and not mentioned next campaign, but he did - and with confidence. Things could of course change if the clubs interested make their move, but Scott seems happy at Ashton Gate as things stand. For now, the England U20 international is just focused on doing everything he can to improve.
