Wolves €5m bid 'rejected' as Gary O'Neil transfer admission made
According to Fabrice Hawkins, a Paris-based journalist who works for RMC Sport, and BFMTV, a bid of between €5m plus €1m in add-ons has been rejected. In his post shared on Twitter on Friday afternoon, he added that there is an agreement in principle between Meupiyou and Wolves.

He missed a majority of the 2024/25 campaign with a meniscus injury, but he is now back fit and has been linked with a move away from the Stade de la Beaujoire.
Wolves have been strongly linked with Meupiyou, but earlier this week it was reported that Premier League rivals Everton also had an interest according to HITC. Wolves are 'confident' of beating the Toffees, and Nantes may have to consider selling him as he only has a year left to run on his contract.
Wolves still need a replacement for Max Kilman after selling him to West Ham in July, whilst Pedro Neto departed for Chelsea last week. At the moment, nothing is ‘imminent’ but Gary O’Neil said that he wanted players that were ‘Premier League ready’ as well as signings that could be assets.

Hide AdIn his pre-match press conference, manager Gary O’Neil said: “Myself and Matt Hobbs have worked hard on identifying (targets) and it's still being worked on.
“I don't really like talking about what might or might not happen but we have realistic targets and hopefully they will arrive before the end of the window.
“We're trying to sign assets and players that carry value and help the club, but also we need ones that are Premier League ready.

News of Wolves' offer for Meupiyou is welcomed, as defensive reinforcements are needed, but his lack of first-team football with Nantes, means that he comes more under the category of an asset, rather than being one of the 'Premier League ready' players that Gary O'Neil was talking about.
