Wolves Premier League rivals to make manager announcement - appointment imminent

Former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui is expected to be confirmed as manager of Premier League rivals West Ham this week.
Sky Sports News is reporting that Lopetegui has a 'full agreement' with the London club to succeed David Moyes as manager. It was announced earlier this month that Moyes would be departing the London Stadium and Lopetegui was strongly linked with succeeding him.

Lopetegui left Wolves on the eve of the 2023/24 season and has been out of work ever since. It's been nine months or 286 days since the Spainiard left and despite being linked with several job vacancies and spotted at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge, he has remained out of work. Jobs in France and Saudi Arabia were suggested but it was reported that he favoured a return to the Premier League.
During his time at Wolves, he managed a total of 27 games with 10 wins, six draws and 11 defeats with 28 goals scored and 38 conceded. Wolves finished the 2022/23 season in 13th-place with Lopetegui arriving in November 2022 when the club was rock bottom of the division and four points adrift of safety.
West Ham are due to play Wolves in pre-season with a match announced between the two at the EverBank Stadium in Florida, the home of the NFL team the Jacksonville Jaguars. It will take place on Saturday, July 27 with a kick-off time yet to be announced.
