Wolverhampton Wanderers transfer target Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was reportedly absent from RC Strasbourg training on Friday morning after claims personal terms had been agreed.

Gary O’Neil’s side are working hard to bring in another midfielder in addition to Tommy Doyle after the record £53.2 million sale of Matheus Nunes to Manchester City was confirmed.

It was reported earlier on Deadline Day by Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna that Bellegarde has already accepted Wolves’ offer and an agreement between the two clubs is all that’s needed.

Just a couple of hours later and news has now broken in France – by Alsa Sports – that Bellegarde didn’t turn up to the Strasbourg training ground as transfer discussions are currently taking place.

Due to the fact the midfielder has just 10 months left on his current contract, it’s claimed the Ligue 1 side only want around €10 million (£8.6 million) for a sale to be completed.

It awaits to be seen whether those figures are indeed true but it seems as if Wolves could well be closing in on Bellegarde, who is technically partially owned by Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly.
