Everton have emerged as surprise favourites to land the signature of wantaway Wolves winger, Adama Traore.

The Spaniard’s future remains up in the air following his loan spell away at Barcelona in the second-half of the last campaign and with just a year left on his current contract, the gold and black have to cash in now if they are to receive a fee for the 26-year-old.

According to the current market prices, it’s Everton that currently sit as favourites for a potential permanent transfer - hovering at 3/1 to sign him before September 1.

Frank Lampard is desperate to add more attacking options to his side after they lost last season’s top scorer Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur and Traore could provide some much needed spark in the final third for the Toffees.

Ironically it’s Spurs again that could prove the biggest challenge in getting this one over the line, too.

The North London club made a real solid run at bringing Traore there in January before he ultimately made the decision to move back to his homeland instead.

It was recently reported that Antonio Conte has reignited his interest in the Wolves winger though the bookmakers only have them down as second favourites at 6/1.

There’s been the odd mumbling that Leeds United have been monitoring the 26-year-old but things seem to have quietened on that front. They do however remain third favourites at 8/1 whilst Barcelona (12/1), Chelsea (14/1) & West Ham United (20/1) make up the list.

Traore has missed the majority of Wolves’ pre-season to date having suffered a hamstring injury at the beginning of their Spanish training camp.
