Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Leonardo Campana is set to join Major League Soccer side Inter Miami on a permanent deal, according to reports. The Ecuadorian, who has never made a senior appearance for Wolves, has been on loan with the Florida-based club this season and is set to remain.
This is according to the ever-so-reliable transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano, who said on Twitter: Campana will leave Wolves to join Inter Miami on a permanent deal. Buy option clause will be triggered – fee will be $2.7m. Campana will hit Young DP in club’s plan.”

Campana will likely be excited by another rumour swirling around the David Beckham-owned club at the moment, with global superstar attacker Lionel Messi heavily linked with a move. The Athletic reports Inter Miami are “increasingly confident of signing Messi,” amid speculation of a potential return to Barcelona.
If the move does indeed go through for Campana, it will be a small profit for Wolves, who signed the striker from Ecuadorian giants Barcelona SC for a fee of £1.8m, in January 2020. The Wanderers aren’t short of options up front when blessed with a fully fit squad - as the likes of Raul Jimenez, Diego Costa and Sasa Kalajdzic all remain on the books.
