Raul Jimenez sends message after successful surgery as Wolves celebrate win

Raul Jimenez shared news of his knee surgery on Instagram.

Raul Jimenez celebrated Wolves’ comeback win at Burnley as he confirmed his knee surgery had been successful.

Jimenez underwent surgery in London on Friday to repair the MCL injury he sustained against Everton in the EFL Cup.

The striker is expected to be sidelined until January, dealing a major blow to both the Mexican and Wolves.

Boss Cesar Peixoto said Jimenez had remained positive despite the setback. The 35-year-old shared a picture on Instagram on Friday night, confirming his operation had gone well and celebrating Wolves’ victory.

He wrote: “Everything went well during the surgery. Thank you all for your messages and support, and a great way to celebrate with a Wolves win.”

Sean Neave led the line in the absence of Jimenez and Adam Armstrong at Burnley, playing a key role in Wolves’ comeback by providing the assist for Fer Lopez’s equaliser.

Super-sub Tawanda Chirewa then struck seconds after coming off the bench to seal the victory.
