The Baggies are a little over the quarter of the way through the season and they find themselves in a similar position to where they were last year. A 2-1 win against Hull City ended an eight-game winless streak and given how long it was between their last win, anyone associated with WBA would take that.
For the first six games of the season West Brom started really well and won five of those matches. Back-to-back defeats against Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough though began that winless run. Luckily, WBA didn’t lose many games, and instead just drew six consecutive games.
West Brom found themselves top of the table going in to the first international break of the season, but currently they find themselves six points off of Sunderland and Sheffield United. Carlos Corberan is also trying to navigate his side through an injury crisis with three of his first-choice centre-back options injured.
Credit to Corberan for being able to guide West Brom through a tricky period and keeping them in the top six. He's one of the longest serving managers in the division after Coventry City sacked Mark Robins.
It's a dog-eat-dog world if you're a manager in the Championship as you are all fighting for the same goal. That doesn't mean though that you can't reserve praise for your opposite number.
A few manager's this season have given predictions such as West Brom will be in the top two or vying for a promotion again as a reason to be proud of their performance, even if they've been defeated. Sometimes that just be viewed as a distraction target or an excuse, but it can also be viewed at as genuine as well.
There’s not really been a bad word to say about West Brom this season by any opposition manager who have been fairly complementary towards the club, Carlos Corbean, and the squad. We’ve looked back at every manager’s pre-match or post-match press conference and collated what each one has said. Flick through the pages for a full run-through.

3. Steven Schumacher (Stoke City 1-2 West Brom)
"I'm disappointed with the result in a close game, which we always knew was going to be a bit of a battle, as West Brom are going to be a good side again this season. "Tight games are decided by small margins and we just didn't come out on the right side." | Getty Images
