Ahead of the match, West Brom have won seven of their last nine home league games against Sunderland. Sunderland did win this fixture last season 2-1 at the Hawthorns however. Sunderland were victorious in the last meeting between the two sides and are looking to complete a first league double over WBA since the 2006/2007 campaign.

As for West Brom's home record on a Saturday, they've won 12 of their last 17 home games in front of their supporters. As for Sunderland, their last two games have ended in goalless draws and a third isn't something they've done since February/March 1993.

Sunderland played on Tuesday whilst West Brom played on Wednesday so it will be interesting to see who are the fitter between the two sides. Here’s the latest injury and team news ahead of kick off.

West Brom team news

Jed Wallace was missing against Rotherham United on Wednesday through illness. The club captain was a surprise absentee having played 80 minutes against Stoke City.

Josh Maja made a return to action off the bench in midweek as he played seven minutes. It was his first match since suffering ankle ligament damage back in December and West Brom will be glad that they have more attacking options to choose from. West Brom decided in the week that Callum Marshall could return to parent club West Ham.

West Brom do have two confirmed absentees that will miss the remainder of the campaign. Dike suffered a successive Achilles injury that will put him out for the remainder of the year. As for Molumby, he has a muscular injury and he will require surgery to address the problem.

Martin Kelly is unlikely to make an appearance this season either. He suffered a muscle injury back in February that would put him out for ten weeks.

Out: Callum Marshall, Daryl Dike, Jayson Molumby and Martin Kelly. Doubt: Jed Wallace.
