West Bromwich Albion supporters have taken to social media urging The Baggies to sign a soon-to-be free agent striker who broke a record in the Championship just a few seasons ago. With funds not so readily available for transfers at the moment, bringing players in without a fee is likely a route to be used in the summer.

Hide AdThe man in question is Norwich City legend Teemu Pukki, as The Canaries confirmed yesterday that the striker will leave the club at the end of the season. This announcement has put teams on red alert as the forward, despite turning 33 in March, is still prolific with 10 goals and seven assists in 35 league appearances this season.
The Finnish international broke Norwich’s record for the most Championship goals scored by a single player in one season in 2018/19, scoring 29 times to help his side to promotion. Pukki’s impressive tally was just one shy of the all-time division record at the time; Glenn Murray netted 30 for Crystal Palace during the 2012/13 campaign.
No concrete speculation has linked West Brom with Pukki just yet, but that hasn’t stopped fans from debating whether or not he would be a good signing. Some are eager, others are unsure, whereas a few are completely against the idea. With 201 goals in 549 career appearances, there’s no doubting his talent - but is he the right man, and can Albion afford him?

Taking to Twitter, quite a few Baggies supporters have discussed the positives and negatives of signing Pukki, with the Norwich man’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
@lukestokes84: “I think it’s another Dwight Gayle scenario... not sure it works out but his experience would be very beneficial. Financially though, how could it work?
@BromBreakdown: “Get him.”
@JDPearsonIP: “Definitely no. Seen him a few times this season, just too slow and old. Hope CC builds a young #wba squad and finds the next BTA.”
@Pongojohnson: “Be all over this I would.”
