There was a new manager at the Hawthorns on Monday evening but the problems were there all the same for West Bromwich Albion.
Whilst an improvement in result on last week’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United, the 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers means it is now four games without finding the net for Albion.
It’s a theme that has been plaguing the team since the early days of Valerien Ismael and it’s one that is showing no sign of changing any time soon.
In Steve Bruce’s defence, he has only been in charge in the west midlands for a week now and judging by the performances as a whole over the last few months, it’s going to take a lot longer than a week to get this team firing.
From another disappointing evening at the Hawthorns, here are Ben Ramsdale’s player ratings.
9. Callum Robinson - 5
Shocked that he played the full 90 after a below par performance. Needs to be playing next to Carroll for me, though. | Getty Images
10. Karlan Grant - 5
A rough day for Grant. Was subbed after 65 minutes. | Getty Images
11. Andy Carroll - 6.5
Works incredibly hard when he’s on the field but needs more quality around him. | Getty Images
12. SUB Grady Diangana - 6
Had a case to be starting beforehand but didn’t do anything in the 30 minutes he got to back that up. | Getty Images
