There was a new manager at the Hawthorns on Monday evening but the problems were there all the same for West Bromwich Albion.
Whilst an improvement in result on last week’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United, the 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers means it is now four games without finding the net for Albion.
It’s a theme that has been plaguing the team since the early days of Valerien Ismael and it’s one that is showing no sign of changing any time soon.
In Steve Bruce’s defence, he has only been in charge in the west midlands for a week now and judging by the performances as a whole over the last few months, it’s going to take a lot longer than a week to get this team firing.
From another disappointing evening at the Hawthorns, here are Ben Ramsdale’s player ratings.
5. Conor Townsend - 6.5

6. Jayson Molumby - 6
Was brought in in place of the suspended Jake Livermore. Molumby is probably the better of the two options but he struggled to get going on Monday. | Getty Images
7. Alex Mowatt - 7.5*
My man of the match. Completed more passes than anyone on the field. A classy performance but it’s a shame the quality in front of him was lacking because it makes his role feel redundant. | Getty Images
8. Adam Reach - 7
A proper midfield engine performance from Reach but not a fan of him playing the more advanced role. | AFP via Getty Images
