Castro, 21, has been given the green light to head to Meadow Lane to get some more first-team experience under his belt.

West Brom prospect

West Brom swooped to sign the Portuguese-born man back last year after he impressed on trial on a two-year deal.

Prior to his switch to the Hawthorns, he caught the eye playing in non-league for the likes of Leiston and Bury Town.

Castro was handed his senior debut in August last year in a Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal and went on to make two more appearances in the last campaign.

Burton Albion swooped to land him in July on a season-long loan but his time with the League One side was cut short earlier this month due to a lack of game time.

West Brom will be hoping he can get more opportunities at Notts County in the fifth tier. The Magpies have made a strong start to this season and are currently 3rd in the table after four wins from seven games.

Castro will give the more competition and depth in their midfield department and exposure to regular first-team football will be beneficial to his development.

His contract with the Baggies expires in June 2023 meaning he is due to become a free agent next year as things stand.
