Leeds too scored three goals but it wasn't enough for all three points as they were held by newly promoted Portsmouth. Pascal Struijk put the Whites in front but twice they fell behind, however Wilfried Gnonto and Brendan Aaronson were on target to ensure they didn't begin the campaign with a defeat.
Saturday's game is a 12.30 pm kick-off and is live on Sky Sports, with tickets remaining on sale to home supporters. Here's the latest injury and team news ahead of kick-off.
West Brom team news
Carlos Corberan made 11 changes in the defeat to Fleetwood on Tuesday night, and the players that featured against QPR are likely to return. Gianluca Frabotta, Paddy McNair, Devante Cole and Lewis Dobbin all got their first starts on Tuesday, but it was academy striker Mo Faal who scored WBA's only goal of the night.

Daryl Dike is out for the remainder of 2024 with an Achilles injury, but returned to West Brom's training base in the summer. Grady Diangana and Jed Wallace are both out with injuries, but they're only short-term.
Diangana suffered a calf problem a the start of July, and has been working on a personalised programme to help cover the pre-season schedule he missed, whilst Wallace is out with a calf issue too and is out for between two to three weeks.

Leeds only have one injury concern to contend with and that's Maximilian Wober, who has a calf issue. Wober featured against Middlesbrough on Wednesday night, having been an unused substitute against Pompey last weekend.
“The medical department are doing a fantastic job and it seems everyone is available expect maybe Max Wober with a calf injury,” said Farke to the YEP in his pre-match press conference. He would be a question mark.”
He remains contracted to Leeds for the time being, but Georginio Rutter will seemingly play no part at the weekend. Brighton & Hove Albion activated the £40m release clause in his contract and despite their best efforts, Rutter will be off regardless of their attempts to keep him according to Adam Pope, who was at Leeds’ pre-match press conference.

Hide AdThe 22-year-old said an emotional goodbye to his teammates today (July 15) and so if the move isn't finalised by Saturday, then he at the least won't be in the squad on Saturday. It is expected that he will finalise the move to Sussex in the next 24 hours.
Earlier this summer, there was talk that Patrick Bamford could depart, but he remains a part of Daniel Farke's plans. The 30-year-old came off the bench last Saturday, and started the entire game against Middlesbrough, and the German boss admitted that whilst he is available, he is not quite fully fit.
In his pre-match press conference before the game against Middlesbrough, Farke said: "We have a few players like Patrick who missed 11 weeks of team training if you count the summer break. He’s not right now in his prime, came from long-term rehab, you need a bit of time for rhythm.
“The more he trains with us, the more he edges closer.”
Out: Georginio Rutter. Doubt: Maximilian Wober.
