West Bromwich Albion are reportedly monitoring SJK Seinajoki midfielder Pyry Hannola.

The Baggies are keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old following an impressive breakthrough in the Finnish top flight.

Hannola is nearing the conclusion of the current Veikkausliiga campaign, which started in April and will end next month. The former Finland Under-21 international has scored four goals and made five assists in 19 league appearances this term.

A further three goals and four assists have been notched by Hannola in the two Finnish domestic cup competitions. The midfielder, who has broken through gradually, has already racked up a total of 111 appearances for SJK since joining from Midtjylland in 2021.

West Brom Xtra reports Albion have been impressed by Hannola this season and are monitoring his progression. Carlos Corberan’s side are having to limit spending in the transfer window with severe financial restrictions, so thinking outside of the box is handy.

A cut-price deal for Hannola is unlikely as his contract at SJK runs until December 31, 2026. Transfer fees are rarely inflated in Finnish football, however, with only five sales ever reaching over £1 million, according to Transfermarkt.

Hannola’s current market value, as per the same source, is €250,000 (£213,604). It awaits to be seen if Albion are considering acting upon their interest in the SJK man, who can play anywhere in midfield or as a winger.
