West Brom face strong transfer competition

West Brom have been linked with a swoop for Motherwell right-back Max Johnston but will have to see off plenty of competition from elsewhere if they are to lure the highly-rated defender to the Hawthorns. His contract in the Scottish Premiership expires at the end of next month and he has a big decision to make on what to do next.

According to a report by the Daily Record, Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are believed to be interested in landing him. Promoted Burnley are also said to be keen as they plot potential additions as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Birmingham City keen on striker deal

Birmingham City are reportedly one of a few Football League clubs interested in snapping up Cheltenham Town striker Alfie May. According to the Express, the Blues along with Derby County, Millwall, Wrexham, Peterborough United and Gillingham are ‘keeping tabs’ on the attacker who has scored 22 goals this term.

The 29-year-old was signed by Doncaster Rovers in 2017 from non-league outfit Hythe Town and hasn’t looked back since. His current club snapped him up three years ago and he has since been their main man up, firing an impressive 66 goals and 14 assists in 165 outings. However, they will face a real battle to keep hold of him with a whole host of teams in the frame for his signature.
