West Brom boost as Leicester City stance emerges amid Carlos Corberan links

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has been listed as a potential replacement should Chelsea appoint Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca.
The Blues are on the search for a new manager after Mauricio Pochettino left Stamford Bridge after just one year in to the role. Championship winning boss Enzo Maresca is part of a four-man shortlist to replace the Argentine, as well as Thomas Frank and Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, as well as an unknown fourth contender.

The good news however is that despite the speculation about Corberan being a contender, as of right now there is nothing to suggest that a departure from the Hawthorns is imminent for the Spaniard. Leicester according to Rob Tanner, a long-serving journalist that has reported on the club believes that it is ‘too early’ for the club to begin drawing up potential replacements.
"Way too early for that," responded Tanner, The Athletic's Leicester City correspondent when asked if Leicester had sorted any replacements for Maresca.
"But there are lots of available candidates right now. Long standing interest in certain managers and LCFC will still be attractive despite poss points deduction."

Earlier this year it was reported that Ivan Juric was being linked with a move to West Brom. Those rumours were dispelled however with new owner Shilen Patel giving Corberan his full backing.
"He (Corberan) certainly made an impression on me," said Patel to WBA TV back at the start of March.
"I think that you can tell that he has a great sense of detail and his intensity is apparent. The work that he has done and the results that he has achieved in the time that he has been here, they speak for themselves.
