West Bromwich Albion forward Jovan Malcolm is nearing a season-long loan move to Cheltenham Town on Deadline Day, according to a reputable local report.

The 20-year-old, who made temporary moves to Accrington Stanley and Solihull Moors last campaign, is set for a return to League One.

Gloucestershire Live reports Malcolm is “close to completing” his switch to Cheltenham with just a few hours to go until the transfer deadline.

With just 57 senior minutes so far this season, it looks like a good decision as the versatile attacker can earn some extended game time in the English third tier.

Malcolm has netted 28 times in 70 appearances for Albion at youth level and also has one senior goal to his name in four matches.

Cheltenham are currently rock bottom of League One but have already signed right-back Josh Williams from Birmingham City and will be boosted further by Malcolm’s arrival.
