West Brom are ‘on course’ to secure a deal to bring Carlos Corberan to the Hawthorns by Tuesday, according to a report by Football Insider. The Midlands outfit have identified the Spaniard as the man they want to replace Steve Bruce with. He guided Huddersfield Town to the play-off final last season.

The Baggies are believed to be interested in Blackpool striker Jerry Yates. The Sun have reported that they are scouting the former Rotherham United man along with Watford, Bournemouth and Brentford.

Birmingham City

Birmingham boss John Eustace decided to not start Hannibal against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. The Manchester United loan man has impressed since making the move into the second tier and his manager has explained why he was dropped to the bench, as per Birmingham Live:

“The way he has played in the last couple of games has been phenomenal. He has broken records for total distance, all that kind of stuff. It was important we also used the squad. [Juninho] Bacuna came in today and did well and Hanni came on for that last half hour and was very good.

“I have said it is a squad game, everyone will be used, we are certainty stretched at the moment but it’s important everyone gets that opportunity to play and feel wanted.”

QPR ace Chris Willock could return for their clash against the Blues later this week. Michael Beale has told West London Sport: “That’s the plan. He’s been out running and the plan was for him to be available for Birmingham or the game against Norwich.”
