A list of potential contenders to replace Carlos Corberan at West Brom has emerged.

Mark Robins has emerged as the bookies favourite for the West Brom manager's job as markets opened up despite Carlos Corberan still being at the club.

News broke yesterday that Carlos Corberan was identified as Valencia's first-choice to replace Ruben Baraja who was relieved of his duties on Monday. Things have moved quickly with the La Liga club seemingly happy to pay Corberan's release clause which is around €3m.

Nothing has been made official yet despite reports from the likes of Fabrizio Romano and Marca yesterday. The Telegraph’s Midlands football journalist John Percy reported that talks will take place over the next 24 hours, casting doubt on Corberan’s status for the Boxing Day trip to Derby County.

With the 41-year-old likely to leave his job at the Hawthorns, bookies have already put together a list of who they think is most likely to succeed him. Former Coventry City boss Mark Robins has been placed as the favourite and is shortly followed by Steve Cooper.

It was suggested earlier this month that Corberan was reportedly a target for Wolves, but now the opposite could happen. Gary O’Neil is the third favourite having only recently been axed by West Brom’s fiercest rivals.

Robins and O’Neil were both reportedly approached for the job at Millwall, but believed a return to management was too soon. The ex-Sky Blues boss wants to take time out from football, whilst it was only a matter of days after O’Neil was sacked.

Second favourite Steve Cooper was sacked by Leicester City towards the end of November. The 44-year-old lasted just five months at the King Power Arena, having left them 16th in the Premier League.
