Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says they will 'look at it' in the summer when it comes to the future of West Brom star Mikey Johnston.

The 24-year-old has been a huge success since arriving at The Hawthorns and boasts one of the best goals to games ratio. He has notched up six goals and one assist in the 10 matches he's played for the Baggies so far.

Before heading to the West Midlands, Johnston had found his playing time limited with just four starts in the first part of the campaign. He has since lit up West Brom and has got four goals in his last three games which has prompted calls for the club to sign him on a permanent basis.

The 24-year-old is under contract at Celtic Park until the summer of 2026 though and should West Brom win promotion to the Premier League then they could be forced in to paying a big transfer fee to sign him permanently.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Rodgers said: "I spoke to him in the summer when he was looking to go on loan and I said stay and get your training right because you’ve not had a period of training consistently never mind playing games.

“He was able to do that then he featured in some games for us and once he trained and featured it was then about getting him game time. He has gone and done fantastic and shown the talent everyone knows he has. Hopefully he continues with that and then we can look at it again in the summer.”

In other news, Football Insider is reporting that Shaun Maloney is in the frame for the Watford manager's job. The Hornets are on the search for a new manager after parting company with Valerien Ismael, and despite Tom Cleverley's winning start against Birmingham City, they could look elsewhere.

Maloney is the manager of Wigan Athletic and has been charge of the Latics since January 2023. He was unable to prevent them from being relegated and after being dealt numerous points deductions, he has stabilised the club.

The 41-year-old is most known for his time at Celtic where he had two playing spells, but in between that he spent a season at West Brom's West Midland rivals Aston Villa. He was also an FA Cup winner as a player with Wigan, defeating Manchester City.

Tickets for Millwall away meanwhile have been sold out. The sale of tickets had been delayed at the end of February and now with West Brom in good form, supporters have snapped them up as Carlos Corberan's side closes in on securing a play-off spot. A total of 2,000 fans will descend to the capital when West Brom play Millwall at The Den on Good Friday (March 29, kick-off at 1.00 pm)
