West Brom are sweating on the fitness of Brandon Thomas-Asante ahead of their trip to Leeds United on Friday night.

Carlos Corberan returns to Elland Road, where he once assisted Marcelo Bielsa, but now as he plots the Whites' downfall, he may have to do it without Thomas-Asante. The 24-year-old suffered an ankle injury against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup last week, and missed the 3-2 win against Swansea City on the weekend.

The Baggies will be without Adam Reach, who underwent surgery on his thigh earlier this month, and is expected to return to action in the new year. Daryl Dike is another long-term absentee after suffering an Achilles injury back in April, which would rule him out for six months. Grady Diangana and Martin Kelly are also ruled out as they recover from their injuries. Diangana returned to training last week, but Kelly is slightly behind him, because of the injury he suffered whilst on loan at Wigan Athletic last year, which required surgery.

As for the opposition, they have got a lengthy injury list and are without several players, which is something West Brom will look to exploit. Centre-back Liam Cooper has been ruled out for the next two months with an ankle injury, meanwhile Patrick Bamford is not expected to return until after the international break. Crysencio Summerville who earned Leeds a point in their 2-2 draw with Cardiff suffered a groin injury, and has not featured since their opening game, and is out for up to three weeks.

Luis Sinisterra is dealing with a knee injury, and has been linked with a move away with Feyenoord making contact to the Yorkshire club.Daniel Farke said at the weekend that Sinisterra was 'not available' and went on that he only wanted players committed to the club. Wilfried Gnoto has come under the spotlight after he apparently told them that he 'still does not feel able to play for them' having missed the last two competitive matches.

Full-backs Junior Firpo (knee) and Mateo Joseph (ankle) aren't available for this clash either, and are expected to return in September. 21-year-old forward Sam Greenwood is closing in on a return however having trained this week, and could at least be amongst the nine-man bench. Tyler Adams is another out, and he's three weeks away from rejoining training, and is in to the final stages of his rehabilitation.

Sonny Perkins had a bout of illness to contend with last week, and was due to play for their Under-21's, but didn't feature, and that makes him a doubt for Friday. Stuart Dallas is anothber sidelined, and there is no timescale on his return because it is a 'bad injury' according to Daniel Farke.

Leeds have since suffered another blow with Leo Hjelde ruled out after suffering concussion in training in the build-up to the match this week. The Norway Under-21 international has entered a concussion mprotocol which means he is out until at least next Monday. Georgino Rutter and Joe Rodon have both had a proper weeks training, and are in contention to play.
