How West Brom compare to their Championship rivals in terms of bookings

West Brom are battling to secure a place in the play-offs this season after a four-year hiatus from England’s top-flight.

The Baggies are currently sixth in the table and after a 1-1 draw with Hull City, only goal difference separates them from seventh placed Bristol City who claimed a 2-1 victory against Norwich City on Friday night.

Tony Mowbray’s side have drawn a Championship-high 18 games this season and know that they will need to convert more of those performances into wins in the final furlong of the campaign if they are to achieve their goals.

The Hawthorns faithful know that the smallest of margins could make a huge difference in this year’s race for the play-offs and one factor that could play a key part is discipline and mental strength in key moments.

With that in mind, Birmingham World takes a look at the Championship disciplinary table and just how many bookings West Brom have accumulated over the course of the season so far.

How many bookings have West Brom had this season?

Over the course of the first 38 games, West Brom have had 68 yellow cards and two sendings off. Midfielder Jayson Molumby has been the most susceptible to cards this season and the 25-year-old currently has nine yellow cards.

He is followed closely behind by midfielder Callum Styles with eight bookings and former Leeds United star Alex Mowatt and defender Darnell Furlong with six yellows each.

Furlong received a red card in their 1-0 win against QPR earlier this month and the club's appeal against the dismissal was rejected, resulting in a three-match ban for the player. The other red card of the season went to Kyle Bartley after the game had already finished during a post-match fracas against Sheffield Wednesday in February.
