Ipswich Town closing in on £750k West Brom deal as trio near exits

Ipswich Town have reportedly agreed a £750,000 deal to sign West Bromwich Albion left-back Conor Townsend.
The Tractor Boys, keen to add depth and competition on the left side of defence, identified Townsend as an ideal candidate. With 213 appearances for West Brom since he signed from Scunthorpe United for £1.5 million in 2018, Townsend boasts plenty of experience.

Hide AdThis comes after a report from The Ipswich Town Forum, stating Kieran McKenna’s side had begun their attempt to lure Townsend to Portman Road. The defender, with just 11 months left on his contract, will now join for a bargain fee.
Ipswich have been patient with their transfer business since their terrific promotion to the Premier League, completing five permanent signings thus far. Omari Hutchinson, Jacob Greaves and Liam Delap have been the headline additions, but the experience of the likes of Townsend could be nearly as vital.

Carlos Corberan will be wary not to let the depth and quality of his squad drop further below the standard required to compete for the Championship play-off positions. Townsend, as a mainstay with 44 league appearances last season, will certainly be missed.
Exits of West Brom duo imminent
Okay Yokuslu and Brandon Thomas-Asante are both expected to officially depart West Bromwich Albion in the next 24 hours. Yokuslu will join Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor for around £1.5 million, whereas Thomas-Asante is set for Coventry City after a late hijack from the grasps of Hull City.
