Hide AdTurkiye Gazetesi reports Sarabia has accepted Besiktas’ salary offer and is now waiting for Wolves to reach an agreement over his sale. The 32-year-old, formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, Sporting Lisbon and Sevilla, has decided he wants to move away to pastures new.
Wolves are yet to sanction his departure, however, with no fee agreed with Besiktas as it stands. The report from Turkiye Gazetesi states negotiations are ongoing between Wanderers and Besiktas’ technical director, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, to reach a resolution.
The Turkish side are said to have given up on their pursuit of Atletico Madrid star Angel Correa after a fee of around €20 million was demanded. Sarabia, meanwhile, is claimed to be worth in the region of €10 million (£8.5 million) in the current market.

Hide AdSigned by Wolves for just £4.4 million from PSG in January 2023, Sarabia has racked up 49 appearances for the Old Gold. The 32-year-old has contributed five goals and seven assists in 43 Premier League matches, not quite reaching his lofty heights of 15 goals and eight assists in 29 Liga Portugal games for Sporting.
Sarabia is currently more of a utility option for Wolves as Matheus Cunha has moved out to the wing following the summer acquisition of striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Celta Vigo. Hwang Hee-chan is also ahead of Sarabia in the pecking order, while new signing Rodrigo Gomes started away at Arsenal on Saturday.
With only a few years likely left in Sarabia’s career, it’s understandable if he wants to move to a club where he’s guaranteed more regular starts. Wolves can probably avoid a loss, too, as the player still has just under a year left on his contract.
