West Brom have ended speculation about Tom Fellows moving away by signing him to a new long-term contract.

Fellows was out of contract in the summer and there had been talk of Premier League side Everton making a move for him. Championship rivals Leicester City and Southampton had also held an interest.

To put an end to the rumours, he has signed a three-and-a-half-year extension which will keep him at West Brom until at least the summer of 2027. He can now go into the games with focus not having to worry about his future and has a Black Country Derby against Wolves to think about on Sunday.

“I’m really happy to sign a new contract,” Fellows said to the official club website.

“I feel this is the right place for me to develop and keep improving as a player. For me, the big thing is having the opportunities to play and to keep doing well.

“I feel like I can keep getting minutes here and for someone my age, I think the only way you get better is by playing games and being around the senior environment. Hopefully I can keep doing that."

Before committing his long-term future to the Baggies, he sought advice from those around him. He spoke to his family who encouraged him to extend his stay at the club and it ended up being an 'easy decision for him to make.

He also paid credit to Carlos Corberan who has given him a role to play this season. Fellows has played 18 times this season with two goals and an assist. The forward was on loan at Crawley Town last season and has used that experience to break in to the first-team.

Fellows added: "I got opinions from my family, my mom and my dad, on what they thought was best and our ideas were all very similar. It was an easy decision for me to make in the end.

“Carlos Corberán played a big part too because I know he believes in me. He’s shown that by playing me in games and starting me in others. It’s so important to have a manager that believes in you.”

“It’s down to me now to keep working hard.”
