Former Birmingham City, West Brom, Watford, Leeds United and Bolton star makes comeback at 44

Former Birmingham City and West Brom defender Paul Robinson has returned to the football pitch at the age of 44.
Robinson had a 22-year playing career that saw him make more than 650 appearances in professional football featuring for the likes of Blues, Watford, West Brom, Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United. He enjoyed successes such as winning promotion to the Premier League with both the Hornets and the Baggies.

Hide AdHis last appearance came in May 2018, coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 win over Fulham at the end of the 2017/18 campaign. For the first time in over five years however he has donned the boots again.
As first reported by sister website Express & Star, Robinson featured for Claverdon in the Birmingham & District League on Saturday. He featured alongside his son, and they defeated Diamonds Academy on his debut.
He will now play on alternate weekends, unless his new team require him for most matches. Commenting on his playing return, he said on the Baggies Broadcast: "It was really good, it is not at the levels I used to play so my body can cope with it.
"It'll be every other week unless they keep dragging me in, but I enjoyed it and it is an opportunity to play with one of my sons. I'd like to do the same with all of them, it was a great lifetime experience and a great joy to grace the same pitch."

Hide AdThe move came about after Robinson mutually agreed to leave his post as first-team coach at Millwall. Robinson worked under Gary Rowett, however following his departure and the appointment of Joe Edwards, he moved on from The Den. Robinson, who worked as assistant coach to the under-23's and then as head-coach at St Andrew's also spoke of his desire to get iinto to football management.
