QPR have outlined their stance after rejecting a £4.5m transfer offer for midfielder Ilias Chair, according to a report.

Chair was linked with a move to St Andrew's last week and it emerged that Blues had made an offer which was unsuccessful. Chair is subject of transfer interest from numerous clubs and now an offer has been rejected by the Hoops. Trabzonspor have made a £4.25m offer to QPR for Chair but that has been turned down according to the Evening Standard. Clubs in Turkey have until Friday before their transfer window, whilst teams in England saw theirs shut last Thursday.

QPR - currently involved in a relegation battle and are not too far off of Birmingham - are not looking to sell Chair as they try to avoid being relegated to League One. If Trabzonspor were to come in with an offer which was too hard to turn down then QPR would be unable to replace him unless they signed a free agent.

Chair has been a leading figure for QPR despite their lowly position this season and has registered five assists and three goals, making him one of the most creative players in their squad. The 26-year-old has been in English football since 2017 and is regarded as one of the best players outside of the Premier League. He played at the 2022 World Cup for Morocco, reaching the semi-finals.

He has made 220 appearances in total for QPR with 31 goals and 36 assists and is under contract until 2025, and so QPR might change their stance in the summer with a year to run on his deal. Chair is predominantly an attacking midfielder and in January we saw the arrivals of Alex Pritchard and Paik Seung-ho to St Andrew's, so it remains to be seen whether Birmingham City would continue their interest in Chair.
