Latest managerial news emerges regarding this former Birmingham City and Wolves man

Former Birmingham City and Wolves player Roger Johnson has been sacked by Brackley Town. Ex-Molinuex pair Stephen Ward and Kevin Foley have also left the non-league side with Gareth Dean places in charge until the end of the season.

The Saints are currently 4th in the National League North table and remain in with a shout of promotion still. However, they are winless in their last eight games and have slipped down from the top places.

Brackley turned to Johnson in September last year and handed him his first managerial role in the game. The 39-year-old hasn’t lasted a full season though and will now have to weigh up his options in the game.

During his playing days, Birmingham snapped him up from Cardiff City in 2009 whilst they were in the Premier League and he went on to make 88 appearances. He also helped the Midlands outfit win the League Cup during his time at the club.

Wolves then threw him a Premier League lifeline after the Blues were relegated. He played 72 times for the Wanderers but also had loan spells away at Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham. Johnson ended his career after final stints at FC Pune City, Charlton Athletic and Bromley.
