West Brom have reached an agreement with AC Milan for winger Chaka Traore, according to reports in Italy.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, The Baggies - who have scouted the Ivorian - are said to be facing competition from Swiss outfit Lausanne with both club agreeing a deal with Milan. It is now down to the player to decide where he would like to move to, or if he would like to remain in Italy.

West Brom's rivals for Traore's signature, Lausanne are are 11th in the Swiss Super League and are owned by the INEOS group which partially owns Manchester United. According to Football Italia, 'confidence is high' from Lausanne that a loan deal can be agreed.

Traore is highly rated by Milan - but is expected to depart the San Siro this month as they look to aid the teenager's development. Milan are looking to move some players off of their books which don't currently feature in Stefano Pioli's plans. He has been subject of offers from clubs in Serie B but they have been turned down.

He is a 19-year-old winger who came through the academy system of Parma, where he made his senior league debut at just over 16-years-old. Traore moved to Milan in August 2021 and moved to their youth team, but has enjoyed a breakout campaign this year.

He has played four times for the senior team this term and scored against Cagliari in the Coppa Italia. Traore featured in Milan's group stage match in the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund earlier this term. He's been an unused substitute seven times in Serie A but has been afforded two opportunities from the bench for the senior team. Traore has played in the UEFA Youth League, with two assists and one goal, as well as featuring in the Primavera, which is a youth competition in Italy.

A winger seems to be on the agenda of Thursday's transfer deadline. Celtic's Mikey Johnston is under consideration. West Brom are in competition with Norwich City for his signature and are keeping a 'close watch' on his situation.
