West Brom are set to make West Ham United striker Callum Marshall their second signing of the January transfer window.

The Baggies are on the ‘brink’ of signing the 19-year-old, which was first reported by ExWHUEmployee on Twitter and then by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

“We believe that Callum Marshall is on the brink of a loan deal to West Bromwich Albion,” said Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“This represents a very good move for the player, who will gain a high level of experience at Championship level and come back to challenge for the first team next season.”

In addition to that post, Fabrizio Romano backed that up by saying in a post on X: “Understand 2004 born talented forward Callum Marshall’s set to sign new long term deal at West Ham ahead of loan move — valid until June 2027.”

Marshall has been prolific for the Hammers' under-21s team this season with 16 goals and three ssists in ten games. He appeared four times in the EFL trophy with three assists and two goals. Marshall played for the first-team in their FA Cup tie with Bristol City and has was named amongst the substitute's last week against Sheffield United

He has been capped three times for the Northern Ireland national team and would add some firepower to Carlos Corberan’s side having been hamstrung by injuries this season. Josh Maja is currently nursing an injury whilst Daryl Dike has only just returned from a year out with injury. Jed Wallace and John Swift have both had some injuries to contend with this term and that has meant a lot of pressure hs been put on Brandon Thomas-Asante to hold the line.

West Brom’s other January signings Andi Weimann is capable of playing as a striker too. Should a move materialise quickly for Marshall he would be unable to play against Wolves on Sunday as he is cup tied.
