What channel is Birmingham City vs Rayo Vallecano on? Kick-off time, TV & stream details, latest team news

The Blues have just one more test ahead of them before the real stuff gets underway.

Birmingham City’s pre-season schedule comes to a close this weekend when they take on La Liga side Rayo Vallecano at St Andrew’s.

The Spanish outfit were promoted to Spain’s top flight following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season and will provide a stern test for John Eustace’s men prior to the Championship campaign getting underway the following week.

New recruits have been few and far between this summer for Blues and Saturday’s game will likely display a rough blueprint of what to expect from that trip to Luton Town.

Team news

Blues fans will likely see an eleven start the game against Los Franjirrojos that will be similar to that that take the field against Luton Town a week later.

John Ruddy is expected to be first choice goalkeeer ahead of Neil Etheridge whilst a couple of the injured lot will hope to be fit enough to score some minutes towards the back end of the game.

Ex-Manchester United pair Radamel Falcao and Bebe will both likely play for the visitors.

Head-to-head record

These two have unsurprisingly never faced off in competitive action so will be looking to land the bragging rights with the first ever victory this weekend.

Blues’ first-team lost 1-0 to Solihull Moors in their last pre-season friendly whilst the La Liga side were able to notch a 2-0 victory over League One Sheffield Wednesday.
