Leeds and Sheffield United were both keen on signing Paik in the summer as they made contact with Blues over a potential deal. Sunderland were interested last winter, too, but Birmingham edged in ahead of the Black Cats.
It’s been a terrific start to life at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park for Paik, who has built on a decent end to last season with an almost perfect beginning to the new campaign. The 27-year-old has missed merely two minutes of league action, helping Blues soar up to the summit of the English third-tier standings.

“What we are doing every day and how we are playing every game, people can see we are going in a good process, I think. I feel like staying here is good for my career in football.”
Birmingham fans have been anxiously awaiting Paik contract news for a while due to the increasing interest from elsewhere. There’s no wonder why supporters were a little concerned as Paik has been one of the club’s star players this season.
