Birmingham City co-owners Tom Brady and Tom Wagner have invested an astonishing £187 million into a new venture.

American football legend Tom Brady has successfully purchased a stake in NFL side Las Vegas Raiders with the help of Birmingham’s majority owner, Tom Wagner.

The Sports Rush reports Brady and Wagner have invested a combined $244 million (£187 million) to acquire 10 per cent of Raiders, sharing out five per cent each. It’s said to be a bargain deal as Raiders’ estimated valuation stands at around $6 billion.

Wagner, the lead figure at Knighthead Capital Management, took a controlling 45.64 per cent stake of Birmingham 16 months ago and he was later joined by Brady, who bought 3.3 per cent. Although Brady doesn’t actually have any voter rights, the 47-year-old has still made his presence known at the football club.

Appointed as the chairman of Blues’ advisory board, Brady provides knowledge on nutrition, health, wellness and recovery. The New England Patriots icon has also helped out with some excellent PR over in the United States, boosted by his occasional visits to St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.

Although Wagner is by far the more impactful figure at Birmingham and attends many more matches, Brady keeps in regular contact and tries to watch games from afar whenever possible. His fandom at Blues received great publicity in September when Birmingham beat Wrexham by three goals to one on home soil.

Brady stood alongside Manchester United and England legend David Beckham in the stands at St Andrew’s, opposing Wrexham co-owner and Hollywood star Rob McElhenney, who had also made the trip to Small Heath.
