Birmingham City, just like all clubs in the English Football League, have had their fair share of under-performers but some stand out far more than others.
From players who couldn’t hit a barn door to serial mistake makers and expensive transfer flops, some are very recent while plenty are from years gone by.
We thought it would be a bit of fun to ask Bluenoses on Facebook who they think are contenders to take the crown for the worst Blues player of them all.
The responses were vast and even more would have been included if pictures of the players mentioned were available.

1. Bernard Sun
Signed in 2019 but didn’t play a single game in two years. Described jokily as a “cult hero” by a few fans. One of the worst ever by default, really.
2. Carlos Costly
Mentioned by four Blues fans almost immediately after our post went up. The striker went down as a disaster with just eight appearances on loan.
3. Alexander Hleb
Perhaps it was down to the team around him rather than himself individually but was a huge disappointment regardless when he joined on loan from Barcelona.
4. Tyler Blackett
Gave away two penalties in just eight games on loan from Manchester United. Certainly didn’t live up to the billing of a Red Devils man.
