Birmingham City’s task of persuading a Dutch winger to join them might have got a slight bit of easier.

Birmingham City's might be paying close to attention to Leeds United's transfer business amid a rumoured pursuit for Sontje Hansen.

According to various reports in the English media, Leeds United are in talks with Norwich City over the possible signing of winger Jonathan Rowe. The Whites made a £7m transfer offer to the Canaries for Rowe, who was reportedly of interest to several Premier League clubs.

Leeds are on the lookout for a replacement for Crysencio Summerville who was sold to West Ham United last week. As mentioned, an offer has been made to Rowe but it is reported by the Telegraph that there is 'quite a gap' between the expected transfer fee.

News of talks over a deal for Rowe could hint that Leeds are making a strong push for the England under-21 international, and that Hansen might not be their priority. Hansen was linked with a move to Birmingham City and Leeds United on Saturday, and there are several other unnamed teams interested in the forward.

Hansen is a 22-year-old winger that is also capable of playing as a centre forward. He currently plays for NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands, and that's a country that Birmingham have looked to for some of their signings this summer. Emil Hansson and Willum Willumssonwere signed from Heracles Almelo and Go Ahead Eagles, and now Blues are being linked with a third Dutch summer swoop.

The three time Netherlands under-21 international played 38 times for Nijmegen, and registered six goals and seven assists. He came through the academy system at Ajax, and has won accolades such as the UEFA EURO U17 Championship and finishing the top scorer at the U17 World Cup in 2018/19.

Hansen isn't the only winger to be linked with a move to St Andrew's over the weekend. Alan Nixon, an EFL journalist for The Sun, has said that Birmingham City are in a transfer battle with Derby County for Karamoko Dembele, who shone at Blackpool last season.
