Bookies' new predicted final League One table after Birmingham City's loss to Charlton and Stockport's draw with Wigan

Has Birmingham City's defeat to Charlton Athletic had an affect on their final League One predicted finish?

Birmingham City are back in league action this weekend as they travel up to Lincolnshire to face Lincoln City at Sincil Bank in their latest League One fixture.

It's been over a week since Blues ran out comfortable winners against Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Trophy. Players have already returned or are in the process of returning from international duty, as they prepare for a block of six fixtures at least.

Last time out in the league, Birmingham lost 1-0 to Charlton Athletic. More than 3,000 away supporters were in attendance, but the hosts defended resolutely, and Birmingham were unable to break down their rearguard.

Before most teams went on a break because of their games being postponed as a result of international call-ups, there was an interesting set of results. Newly promoted Stockport County who have recruited well drew with Wigan Athletic, Mansfield Town ended Steve Bruce's unbeaten run in the league as Blackpool manager, and Bolton were held to a 2-2 draw by Shrewsbury.

Most teams were afforded a break over the international break, but there were two games played. Peterborough United and Rotherham United played to a six-goal thriller with three goals apiece. Shrewsbury Town claimed their first win of the season as they defeated Crawley Town 5-3, with the Red Devils having a man sent off.

At the moment, Birmingham are top of the division, and lead Wrexham by two points with a game in hand. A lot of pundits and former players are tipping Birmingham to win the league, and maybe even break records.

We’re just a couple of games away from a quarter of the season from being played with a busy game week coming up. Below is a fresh prediction of how the 2024/25 League One will finish, after the latest round of results.
