Birmingham City hope to continue their momentum when they face Leicester City at the King Power Arena in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.

Blues won 1-0 at St Andrew’s against Preston North End on Easter Monday to relieve some pressure on themselves. Birmingham are now two points above the relegation zone as they look to steer clear of the bottom three under Gary Rowett.

At the other end of the table, Leicester City defeated Norwich City 3-1 at home. Enzo Maresca’s side are now third, one point off of Leeds United and two off league leaders Ipswich Town.

Both teams need a win for their respective reasons. Here’s the latest injury and team news before the two bosses speak in their pre-match press conferences.

Birmingham City team news

Marc Roberts has been contending with a calf issue. He didn’t play any part over the Easter period, and his status is doubtful for the weekend.

Alex Pritchard has had a similar fate. He’s not played for the last three matches as he nurses a knock. He returned to training in late March and he’s a player that Gary Rowett will have to make a decision on.

Oliver Burke might miss the remainder of the campaign. The on-loan Werder Bremen forward has a muscle injury that has kept him out since January.

Lukas Jutkiewicz will be out for a ‘while’ after suffering an ankle injury against Watford. Jutkiewicz has been involved in relegation battles with Blues before so his absence will be felt.

Alfie Chang is Birmingham’s long-term absentee. He suffered a serious injury in August and had to undergo surgery, thus forcing him to miss the whole of the campaign.

Leicester City team news

Tom Cannon did not feature in the two fixtures over the Easter period after sustaining an injury over the international break. He hasn’t played for the Foxes since March 2 after being an unused substitute against Chelsea in the FA Cup

Kasey McAteer like Cannon did not play either. He hasn’t made the last six match-day squads.

Dennis Praet made a five-minute cameo in the win against Norwich City. The Belgian was an unused substitute against Bristol City last Friday having missed the two games prior to their defeat at Ashton Gate

Ricardo Periera played both matches over the Easter period after missing the last four matches. The 30-year-old has captained Leicester on several occasions this term.
