Birmingham City’s financial accounts for 2022-23 show that the club posted a pre-tax loss of £25.3 million from the year to June 30, 2023.

This makes for an increase of £304,000 on the previous year. So, pre-tax losses widened at the club - that’s despite an increase in revenue during the financial year before the club’s takeover from Knighthead Capital Management LLC. The new accounts show that the Amercian owners will also inject £58 million into the club by 2025.

The accounts show the final period of the club before they were take over by Knighthead in 2023. It was unveiled ahead of the final game of the 2022/23 season that a takeover from Birmingham Sports Holdings Ltd (BSHL) had been agreed.

Since then, American NFL star Tomy Brady became a minority owner ahead of the 2023/24 season back in August 2023.
