Former Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has seen one of his horses win at the Cheltenham Festival.

His horse was priced at 8/1 and Redknapp will now bring in £67,500 in prize money.

Speaking after celebrating his first-ever Cheltenham win, the ex-Blues boss Redknapp said: “My nan got me into it, she used to be a bookie’s runner back when it was illegal! 

She ended up in Poplar police station every week! "Me and Sir Alex both love the racing, love the football too. 

“This means more than winning I’m A Celebrity … to have a winner at Cheltenham, it’s one of the greatest days of my life.”

He isn't the only former Premier League boss to have tasted success at the four day event in Gloucestershire. Sir Alex Ferguson won with Momira earlier on in the day, with the Man United icon also celebrating his maiden win at the festival.

Birmingham City were Redknapp's last club before his retirement in September. He managed the club from April 2017 to September 2017, guiding Blues to safety in the 2016/16 campaign.

He made a brief return to the dugout in December 2023, helping Cwm Albion, a Welsh football side that lost all 22 games with a minus 191 goal difference last season. Albion won at the weekend, defeated FC Bonymaen thirds with Redknapp playing a part. It was just their second win of the season, and before that they hadn't won a game in three years.
