Gallery: 10 best photos of Jude Bellingham at Birmingham City - as ex-Blue set to start for England vs France

Some of the best images from Jude Bellingham’s time at Birmingham City; a good time to reminisce as the former Blue stars for England at the FIFA World Cup.

Everything is talking about Jude Bellingham at the moment, and rightfully so, as the 19-year-old has been one of England’s best players at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. With a goal in the Three Lions’ opening Group B game against Iran - his first on an international stage - and a whole host of dominant displays, the midfielder has provided nothing but joy for onlooking supporters.

Many will know - perhaps thanks to his frequent public support of the club - that Bellingham started his career at Birmingham City. He joined the Blues academy aged seven in 2010, and then eventually made his senior debut aged just 16, in 2019. Bellingham became the youngest-ever Birmingham player and soon after the youngest goalscorer.

He only had one full season in the first team after taking up a two-year scholarship with the club in July 2019, but it was a superb one as he played 41 times in the Championship and netted four goals. Having been noticed by some of the world’s best clubs, it was no surprise that he left for Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2020.

Bellingham joined the German giants in a club-record sale, as Blues couped £25 million for the transfer. Since joining, Bellingham has made a staggering 112 appearances, scoring 19 goals and contributing 21 assists. He averages a direct goal involvement once every 213 minutes played - impressive considering he predominantly plays as a central midfielder, not an attacker.

Fast forward to the present, and Bellingham is expected to start his fifth successive game for England at the World Cup. It is the most important yet, as Gareth Southgate’s side take on reigning champions France in the Quarter Final. With the game taking place tonight (Saturday, December 10), it feels like a good time to reminisce on Bellingham at Birmingham. Here are the best 10 pictures of him in a Blues shirt.
